Theoretical price point is equal
1) a Shelby Daytona replica with a 427 crate motor.
2) a 964 Carrera with RWB kit

Can I swap the RWB for a Singer? Because that entirely affects my decision.

Reality: Daytona is probably way cheaper.

relevant, I was over at my inlaws tonight and I saw a daytona replica on a picture on their counter. I guess its a card from a friend who just finished building his after 18 months. looked amazing. Daytona all the way

I can drive the Daytona without looking like Jerry Seinfeld

964. It’s probably the more exciting of the two.

the kit and the motor will cost close to the same, but it can be done for about 50, an rwb c2 will run about 60 assuming there is no additional engine work completed, and not including the cost of meeting with Nakai San or transport to the nearest RWB hub.

I was just at the Shelby shop and really want to build one now.

Being Oppo’s resident Cobra fanboi I feel like I should weigh in.
My issue is that because I’m such a nut about Cobras I would notice any little incorrect detail and it would annoy me to no end. If I was getting a Daytona replica it would have to be scratch built because no company out there currently makes a replica identical to the real ones. RWBs on the other hand...

I’d do the Daytona with proper sized Halibrand wheels and Goodyear Eagles.

FFR Type 65 Coupe + Blueprint 427 crate motor comes to about $30k. You’re not going to double that number even once the car is completed unless you have someone else build it, so Daytona all day long.

911 as long as it’s the one above. I love the Cobras, and a few years ago I’d have picked it; but I can put a car seat in the 911, which would make me the coolest dad on the block with my 4 year old. Plus, the RWB will be a great day to day driver since it still has a trunk. Plus I really like the no-wing look

Can I just say this? It’s a good thing that those NFS: Underground -style kits aren’t as “in” now as it was before, and race-themed conversions are coming in.
Also, much of RWB’s customers participate in a 12-hour race a la AER, so that’s a plus.
Final choice: the RWB Porsche.

The Daytona’s front proportions never really did it for me, so RWB 964, especially if I can get it with fire-breathing anti-lag.

Daytona:
1) It looks cool
2) in the long run it will probably be cheaper
3) Damn come on, look at it
4) I’m normally for tiny hipo engines but could never say no to that
5) I am a Ford person

100% the Daytona. I might catch some flak for it, but the RWB kit on that Porsche looks so overdone it’s getting close to ricey territory

I vote Daytona, though I would have vote for the P-car if it wasn’t RWB’d.

Can I put the 427 in the Porsche? 3200 lbs + AWD + 500 lbs-ft from idle...
